What dehumidifier capacity should I compare for a Hong Kong room?
Use room area and the moisture condition before dehumidification to find the published ENERGY STAR capacity band, then compare the Hong Kong label capacity in litres per day. Running cost still depends on the unit's watts, cycling and your tariff.
Method
The planner does not interpolate a proprietary model score. It keeps the published pints/day band intact, converts it to L/day, and separately calculates user-entered watts × hours × HKD/kWh.
Important limitation
This is not a mould, health or whole-home HVAC diagnosis. Capacity tests use specified laboratory conditions; actual extraction changes with temperature, humidity, airflow, doors, laundry and water ingress.
