Hong Kong EV Charging Time, Energy & Time-of-Use Cost Planner

Separate battery and wall energy, cap power by the car and charger, test an available window, and split an editable CLP time-of-use estimate.

Will this charging window reach my target, how much wall energy is involved, and how does the entered time-of-use rate split?

Battery energy is capacity times the state-of-charge gap; wall energy is higher when efficiency is below 100%. Time uses the lower vehicle/charger power. The result is a linear planning estimate, not a vehicle-specific fast-charge curve.

Method

Stored kWh = capacity × SoC gap. Wall kWh = stored kWh ÷ efficiency. Hours = wall kWh ÷ min(charger kW, vehicle kW). Session segments use the entered peak/off-peak rates.

Important limitation

Temperature, battery conditioning, shared power, taper, idle/session fees, fuel adjustments and gross-versus-usable battery size can change real time and cost. Measure the meter and check the current bill.

How to use the result safely

Treat the result as a transparent planning ledger. Stop before purchase or installation when an exact specification, rate, structure or measured condition is unknown.
