Indoor Dew Point, Surface Condensation Margin & Target-RH Planner
Turn measured air temperature, RH, surface temperature and sensor uncertainty into nominal/conservative condensation margins, a target RH and three intervention scenarios.
Is this measured surface safely above the room dew point?
Condensation becomes possible when a surface reaches or falls below the air's dew point. Compare the exact measured surface with both nominal and uncertainty-adjusted dew point, then preserve the chosen margin rather than relying on room RH alone.
Method
Published saturation-vapour-pressure equations convert air temperature and RH to dew point. A conservative screen raises air/RH and lowers the surface by entered instrument uncertainty; the inverse equation derives an RH ceiling for the chosen margin.
Important limitation
This is a surface screen, not a leak, mould, health or interstitial-condensation diagnosis. Sensor placement, thermal bridges, airflow and hidden wet materials can change the result; persistent moisture needs source investigation and qualified building review.
